Don't Pay for 0845 Support Calls
For those of you that don't know, when you phone an 0845/0870 customer services (ha!) line for companies like utilities, broadband providers etc. from a mobile phone, you often get charged quite big money for it. That's because it isn't covered within your monthly allocation of minutes.
One way round this is to use a service like saynoto0870.com to look up the local area code number that the 0870/0845 actually directs to. All numbers will have a 'real' number behind them and because it's a 'normal' number, it's covered with your monthly allocation of minutes.
For example:
Sample Numbers
| Company | Published Number | Real Number |
|---|---|---|
| Virgin Media | 0845 454 1111 | 01256 752000 |
| Scottish Power | 0845 270 0700 | 0141 568 6806 |
Saynoto0870.com also lists freephone numbers where they're available. I've been using the service for quite a while and it's pretty accurate virtually all of the time.

If you do find any non-working numbers, please do report them to us. The site relies on user input and user feedback. I advise users join the forum and post updates in the Requests section. I'm not too bothered about verified entries that do work, but if you post about unverifieds that do work and any non-working numbers then I will see that they are updated or removed as applicable.
